Bio

Lydia Chapman is a London-based portrait painter whose work blends classical techniques with contemporary sensibilities. She trained for four years at Charles H. Cecil Studios in Florence, specialising in traditional methods of portrait painting, following studies at Oxford Brookes University and Edinburgh College of Art. Drawing inspiration from both historical portraiture and modern culture, her practice spans portraiture, landscape, and still life, often exploring how tradition can be reframed for a contemporary audience. Her work has been exhibited in galleries, commissioned by private collectors, and featured in the press.
